The internet comes into the house in the basement via Verizon Fios and directly into a Fios unit and then to the primary Fios router. From there, an ethernet cable goes into a network switch. From that, ethernet cables run to a variey of places:
For the audio, there are three Airport Express base stations (used only for Airplay not as relay devices) and three Sonos speakers. The base station for the Dining Room speakers is in the basement, as is the amplifier, with audio cable that runs up through the wall along with the (broken) ethernet cable. For the Kitchen speakers, the base station and the amplifier are in the liquor/storage cabinet; one audio cable runs from that cabinet through the banquette to the cabinet and speaker on the other side of the banquette. The Living Room speakers are amplified themselves so they are connected directly to the base station and are behind the L sofa. Sonos speakers are on the first (portable), second and third floor, connected to Wi-Fi.
